Rare 19th Century Royal Worcester Hand-Painted Botanical Porcelain Cabinet / Wall Plate – Pink Ground, Jeweled Gilt Border – 23 cm

An exceptionally refined and rare 19th-century Royal Worcester porcelain cabinet or wall plate, distinguished by its faint impressed “cold” factory mark rather than the more commonly encountered printed backstamp.

Measuring 23 cm (9.06 in) in diameter, this elegant Victorian-period plate features a delicately hand-painted botanical composition of purple violets, pink heather-like blossoms, finely shaded foliage and trailing buds. The flowers are rendered with remarkable softness and naturalistic detail against a luminous white central reserve.

The broad pink ground is framed by intricate burgundy ornamental scrollwork, individually applied gilt accents and an elaborate outer border decorated with raised white enamel “jewels.” These pearl-like enamel beads are set between richly gilded bands, giving the plate an exceptionally luxurious and jewel-like appearance.

Further refinement is provided by the finely painted inner gilt border, raised gold detailing and extensive hand-applied gilding throughout. The combination of botanical painting, jeweled enamel decoration and a rare impressed Royal Worcester mark makes this an especially desirable example for collectors of early English porcelain.
