An exquisite antique French Limoges porcelain chocolate cup and saucer produced by Elite Limoges (Bawo & Dotter), dating to approximately 1896–1900.

This elegant set showcases exceptional hand-painted workmanship, featuring a finely executed romantic courting scene framed by elaborate raised gilt decoration. The porcelain is further adorned with delicate pink floral accents and lavish liquid gold embellishments throughout. The sculptural cup form, ornate handle, and richly gilded relief work create a striking display piece representative of the finest Belle Époque Limoges artistry.

The elegant tall form suggests its use as a chocolate cup, a popular style in fine French porcelain during the late nineteenth century. Collectors of antique French porcelain may also recognize this form among the more luxurious demitasse and cabinet cups produced during the Belle Époque era.

Particularly attractive is the combination of richly textured raised gilding, romantic figural decoration, and finely painted floral details, all executed on a luminous ivory porcelain ground. Pieces of this quality were often intended for refined entertaining and today remain highly sought after by collectors of Limoges porcelain and European decorative arts.

Marked on the underside with the Elite Limoges France mark used by Bawo & Dotter during the late nineteenth century, confirming its authenticity and period.

A beautiful and highly collectible example of antique French porcelain, equally suitable for display, collection, or inclusion in a distinguished Limoges assemblage.
