An exceptional antique Carl Thieme Potschappel porcelain reticulated basket-form box, bearing the earliest and highly collectible “Fish T” Carl Thieme mark, used circa 1864–1888.
This remarkable German porcelain piece features an intricately pierced lattice body richly covered in matte gilt decoration, adorned with applied hand-modeled pink roses and flowing leafy vines. The sculptural handle emerging naturally from the floral arrangement enhances the organic elegance of the composition.
The extensive openwork craftsmanship, combined with the individually applied porcelain roses, reflects the extraordinary technical mastery associated with early Carl Thieme production. Pieces bearing this earliest “Fish T” mark are considerably rarer and highly sought after among collectors of 19th century Dresden and Potschappel porcelain.
The hinged domed lid opens to reveal a finely finished white porcelain interior, making the piece both decorative and functional as a luxury bonbonnière or cabinet object.
